2.- The Qoricancha

Then we visited the temple of Qoricancha, a majestic building made by the Incas. Also it is known as the Temple of the Sun or Koricancha.

3.- The Saqsayhuaman Fortress

The majestic fortress of Sacsayhuaman is built on a hill where we see the city of Cusco both day and night. It is famous for its enormous carved stones, which measure from 9 meters high and weighing over 350 tons.

4.- Qenqo

Located four kilometers northeast of the city of Cusco, has archaeological groups Q’enqo Grande Q’enqo Chico.

Etymologically, it means labyrinth or zigzag, served a purely religious function, being on the outside of an amphitheater in a semicircular shape with trapezoidal niches and a monolith that looks like a puma which measures about six meters.

5.- Puka pukara

Puka Pukara means “red fortress” because the calcareous stones with which is built have acquired the reddish color of the ground, very rich in iron. It is argued that had the function of protecting Tambomach’ay, an important palace in the Inkario. But that in turn, for its architectural layout and the existence of sources, aqueducts and multiple enclosures, it was a “tambo” ie a collective lodge offering inn and food to travelers, like the delegation that was to accompany the Inka in his retirement in Tambomach’ay.

6.- Tambomachay

Tambomachay, it is located about 8 kms. north of Cusco and close to the ruins of Puka Pucara, is an archaeological site that was intended for worship of water and the head of the Inca empire could rest. This place is also called Inca Baths. It consists of a series of aqueducts, canals and several waterfalls that run through the rocks. The amazing thing about this is that a main waterfall, the Incas created 2 secondary waterfalls, which are exactly alike. That is, if one places two empty bottles, one in each cascade, 2 are filled simultaneously.
